They’re bad for now. But the existence of them now is a dire fucking warning and the message is clear: STOP USING FUCKIN SOCIAL MEDIA. How many times do they need to take advantage of you, break your trust, sell you out, and manipulate you before you take all of their power away? We all know they’re evil, everyone knows they fuckin suck. The answer is so painfully clear. But people continue being the engine to their entire existence. Why. Just why.

Though the compromise of privacy rights and protections against unreasonable search, seizure and surveillance usually follows the terrorist and child-predator to activist and protestor pipeline.

NSA and FBI have always taken an interests in left wing activists critical of the current regime.

It is only entrapment if the police in the course of their duties or investigation suggest you commit a crime, or ask you to commit a crime.

More specifically, if they convince you to do something you wouldn’t normally have done. Like if you want to buy drugs, and they suggest you buy some coke off their guy, that’s not entrapment. If they spend weeks convincing you that you should do it, give you money or other resources to do it, or so on, then it can be entrapment.

Things like that should theoretically help you make an argument for entrapment, but it’s no sure thing

This is a lot less scary than it sounds when you read that it’s accomplished nothing (0 arrests from interviewed police depts) and sounds like this:

Your parents around? Or you getting some awesome alone time,” a text from the adult says.

“Js chillin by myself, man. My momz @ work n my dadz outta town. So itz jus me n my vid games. 🎮,” Jason, the AI-generated child, responds.

This is little more than an AI grift to scam politicians and police chiefs that have no tech literacy.

Corruption, American style. Americans love their elaborate and borderline-tiring corruption schemes and PR propaganda.

All the more reason for me to have my shit locked down and not respond to people I don’t know.

Like honestly I haven’t had a sketchy interaction on social media for years because all my shit is private and I don’t use my real name or even a picture of my face anymore.
