Every small business I’ve been exposed to has been more than happy to exploit their employees. Small places with Less than 10 employees or large regional chains with a few thousand.

Doesn’t matter if they’re ostensibly ‘liberal’ (read:pro corporate). The owners still support Republican policies because they like the deregulation and salivate at the degradation of labor rights.

I do agree that abandonment is cringe.

On their own journey, I’d be wary of introducing my own biases.

I feel that easily could’ve been excluded from the comic either for the author’s narrative, or simply to keep it a 3 panel. Could also just be alone time to process.

Sharing your beliefs with family is pretty common. Would you not want your relatives to reflect the way you see the world?

Just because it’s going against the generational direction doesn’t make it somehow wrong.

Nor is making a relative upset necessarily wrong.

I don’t really see how this is a negative. Religion gives easy, comforting, often bullshit answers to difficult questions. Who are you supposed to be? What’s the right thing to do? How should you treat others? What happens after I die?

Honestly I initially interpreted the comic as a joke about the dichotomy of how the son would feel good about it but it’s a lot of emotional processing for the mother.

I think that’s a YMMV depending on the cat. One of my cats constantly begs to go outside (he gets walks), the other refuses to leave the house.

I just have a 4-6 hr “evacuation session” and once I’ve recovered from that I’m fine. It leaves me weak and sore af tho.

As far as I know, liquor is safe but beer isn’t. I don’t drink much, but I’ve never had any issues with it either.

Edit: seems I missed the top paragraph in my blindness. Yeah, the effects stack up and the intestinal damage from consumption can lead to difficulties with nutrient absorbtion. (And you’ll struggle with dairy because it’ll affect lactic enzyme production)

No reason to take chances when the uh, post-ingestion symptoms are so severe. Not exactly gambling on long term consequences. :p

The worst glutening I experienced had some minor hypothermia, but it wasn’t enough for a hospitalization, much less lethal.

I’m not aware of wheat being (directly) lethal to those with Celiac’s.

Corporations and cooperation are not the same thing.

A corporation is a distinct legal entity. I am not speaking ill of organizing into a group, co-op or company, though private business can often be awful as well.

Fuck corporations. Why do we allow every aspect of our society and culture to be a market for profit and exploitation?
