That used to fail pretty frequently for me. It wasn’t the worst bug, but it was pretty annoying.

Totally. I remember this happening back when everyone was using forums. This is a “Social Media” problem, not just a Lemmy problem. I have no idea how to fix it, but it’s been around longer than votes have been a thing.
I can’t say for certain, but it screams “middle-management justifying their MBA salary” to me.
Wait, you mean the people that use our resources and don’t pay taxes would go away?
Man, that sounds so awful… What would we do without them…
You can also give yourself equipment and money, if you set yourself up as a GM
I haven’t used sleep on any of my laptops for >20 years because it’s been so unreliable. Rather than getting frustrated, I gave up pretending it would ever work, and adjusted accordingly.
I have one as well, and it’s so much fun. It’s pretty much just for my SO and me, but sometimes I have friends join. It’s super cool having GM commands and all that.
Good work, I hope you have fun with it!

Advertisements are an attack to manipulate me and change my behaviour. I don’t tolerate them at all. They also ruin the product, because it eventually becomes more important to cater to the advertisers than the users.
If Youtube went back to how it was originally (no ads, downloadable videos, creator-controlled, etc), I, and many others, would happily pay them even if we could get the content for free (see Patreon, or GoFundMe, or PornHub, or Imgur, or Reddit, or many other sites as examples).
I’d guess that the stats were thrown off every small business that has an annoying TV blaring in the background
FreeBSD! It’s so simple, and so reliable
lol, I used to do this to my cats all the time when they yawned.
Angry looks followed. Totally worth it.
Because I want them to stop bombing children? Yeah, I know. They’d rather keep doing that, than try to appeal to me as a voter.
“Please stop bombing children”, “How about we don’t back a genocide”, “Maybe illness shouldn’t put you into bankruptcy”, “Police shouldn’t be able to assault and murder innocent people”
I feel like these are reasonable requests, and quite different than “short of perfect”
Maybe if the Democrats fought for those values, instead of against them, then they would gain leftist support.
Too true. self-hosters represent!
