They’ve had that name since 2012, before being a trans ally was fashionable. So I suppose you could say they’re pioneers.
Actually there were two of them:
This one-of-a-kind, near-G-scale trolley was made by Bill Ferguson in Toronto, Canada, in 1967.
That’s the one you see Mr. Rogers interacting with in his home.
The missing ingredient in the HO neighborhood with all the houses and trees was an HO scale trolley.
So they built a smaller one, which you see at the beginning and end of each show.
Because hey, why not? :)
For some of us, this was our introduction to trolleys.
but considering what happened on Christmas
I just read that; it’s a shame “live and let live” is such a foreign concept to some people.
Anyway, it’s probably safer staying indoors during New Year’s, so there’s that.
It may have been inspired by “x” representing an unknown variable like you would see in a math equation, so in that context, it kind of makes sense.
Singular “they” has been used since the 1600s at least.
Which is why I said it’s usually a reference to more than one person.
Neopronouns are like xim and xer. Which I have never seen anyone use in the wild, honestly.
Even though it isn’t a neopronoun, for the most part the same applies to “Latinx”.
This makes perfect sense if you think about it; I have to read text with neopronouns very slowly because it’s a challenge to comprehend after having been taught traditional pronouns in school many moons ago.
(e.g., Under the old rules, “they” was usually a reference to more than one person.)
This is a replica, built in 1930, of a late-1800s cable car:
Nowadays we associate the cable car only with San Francisco, but there were cable car installations in thirty different US cities, and Chicago had the largest.
The cable could not cross a bridge that opened, so three tunnels had to be dug under the Chicago River to allow cable cars into downtown. And to avoid having cable lines cross each other, the cable cars had to run left-handed on State St. and on Wabash in the middle of the Loop.

It’s nice to know that Barrett appears to be keeping an open mind, but unfortunately she along with the other women on the court are still outnumbered by assholes.

It’s more or less something like this.
We tripped on mushrooms and cuddled the night away
This is so wholesome – especially the shrooms part.
That’s what I thought, too, but the info near the end would suggest the reasons are a bit more nuanced.
This is similar in appearance to the one I posted a few weeks ago – both are Chicago Surface Lines streetcars, but this one was built by Pullman.
