  • My dad told me a story of how my grandpa stopped running against him the moment my dad became faster.

He then proceeded to stop playing chess after i beat him. Like he was making an educational point of it.

I love them both, i know them to be bright intelligent people but i will never understand the idea here. When my kids start to beat me at my own games i know i will be nothing but pride and encouragement. I want them to become better then i ever was, isn’t that a point to be made instead?

  • They day after my wedding, we had an extra ceremony on my minecraft server, which has been running continuously for at least a decade.

I don’t personally play that much anymore but i still consider it my favorite game and i will return to it when life gets me particularly down, its therapy, its home.

I also have a decent amount of co-op hours in terraria… it’s an ok game i guess.

  • Defense of what?

I believe the only reason people don’t realize they are already anarchists (everything is and always has been and will be) is because they don’t know what anarchism is. Instead people associate it with violence and rebellion. Triggers me to elaborate on it because i truly believe awareness of its reality is the answer to sustainable peace.

You may have a tiny point in my bias though. I believe stuff must get worse to get people to build something better and some signals of collapse feel like progress. But to turn that into speed running a total destruction of mature moral intellect and refusing to improve things now is plain ridiculous and somewhat of a strawman.

  • It makes me understand your view better but not sure if the term is accurate in this context or such people are common in reality.

I know there are trump voters who argued he will destroy the current system which they hate but such is not specific to anarchism.

Humanity going extinct doesn’t really match the ideals of individual freedom most schools of anarchy are centered around. Unless you consider some form of extreme eco-anarchism where the freedom for nature tops all others.

  • Anarchism = \ = barberianism

    Anarchism = \ = violence

Pacifist-anarchism is what i personally subscribe to.

Absolute do vote, and i am a huge fan of Sanders but also know that voting will not improve things, it will just slow down things getting worse. More time to fix things.

Slow collapse will still continue till we fully transition to a permanent sustainable society. Transition will or will not happen regardless of any single nations temporary elected officials.

The game we are playing is much bigger then a few suits performing geopolitics. Emergent complexity hits you like the great filter

  • That’s on me.

It took till this seahorse to start noticing the matter of their environment has gravity appearing normal for most things but not land based sea creatures who somehow float.

i have lost the right to question it. Someone else, new to this community, is going to have to ask about that some day.

  • As a neurodivergent (autism), with no exaggeration.

    • ads make the majority websites flat out unusable. I simply cant focus on the content anymore.

    • ads make the internet as a whole, which used to feel like a home, feel hostile.

    • ads that suddenly start playing in the middle of content is one of the ways to instantaneously make me angry and lose complete interest in the content

    • ads in public spaces are a cause to my real mental illness.

How many times is society going to require me to pass homeless people who are exploited below signs with faces smiling begging to exploit me and everyone pretends this shit is normal and to be accepted while all of our jobs maintain the economy that made it like this.

I can say exactly one good thing about ads:

They drive me to reach full technological independence, going further and further banning all the enshitification at home and building ethical (foss) systems in their place.

Tldr: Tldr, title was enough to get my unyielding support.

  • You’re not doing it on purpose but your comment does highlight the ease people dismiss the social experience of hidden disability.

    • Oh your that (weird) person always wearing gloves.

    • Why are you so sensitive about your gloves?, just take em off.

    • Someone tried to rip off her gloves the other day and they are in the hospital now.

Comments in this style are more common for teens but the sense of not belonging even if for something at first glance mundane lasts well into adulthood.

  • For new users the main question is not what operating system but what window manager as that is what shapes day to day user interaction. KDE plasma is a solid choice.

Installing it on a separate drive should be no problem. Just select the correct drive during install.

I use F10 to get to the boot menu on drive and select the drive it needs to boot from there. I have used it once in the last year and although it required many updates its still working.
